TESSA

JENKINS

Owner and Lead Trainer

As the proud owner of The Works, I would like to welcome you to this space.  This studio is dear to my heart as this is the location I took my first yoga class 15 years ago when it was run under the name Power Yoga Works.  It was between the four walls of this studio where I fell in love with the practice of yoga, took my first teacher training, made lifelong friends, and taught my first yoga class.

I’ve lived a lot of life since then: I worked as an ICU nurse, became a full time working mama, transitioned to become a stay-at-home mom to my two girls, then part time yoga teacher, yoga studio manager, health and wellness coach, and now I get the pleasure of adding yoga studio owner to my “About Me”.

The Bhagavad Gita states, "On this path, no effort is wasted," which is a sentiment I apply wholeheartedly to my journey. My experiences and relationships have allowed me to grow, gather, fail and reset, and have brought me to this space once again to open the doors and offer the same gifts I received back to you.

BETH

MITCHELL

Teacher, Teacher Training Facilitator

Whether it’s to let go or lean in Beth has you. Not the answer for you, the space for you, the faith in you, the belief in you. Her class will open you and ask you what are willing to give, right now? What do you seek, right now? What do you want to discover, right now, about your mind, your body, your life? She is the ultimate guide. Not a therapist. Not a doctor. A guide. Perfectly imperfect, resilient, dedicated and prideful in her practice and her guidance of yours. Always.

Ellen

Lewis

Teacher

Ellen was drawn to yoga many years ago as a way to find movement and balance outside of her day job. She soon realized the connection between the physical practice and mind and spirit. Years later, yoga is a foundational part of her life, bringing her peace, focus and balance.

After practicing for many years she decided to take her practice to the next level and completed her 200 hour YTT in Spring 2023 at The Works.

She loves all styles of yoga from the sweaty vinyasa's to the soothing restorative poses. Her favorite poses include heart and hip openers. She is excited to teach and share the mindfulness, strength, confidence and breath of yoga to students of all levels. When not on her mat, you can also find Ellen running the front desk on Sunday mornings and tending to the plants.

Ellen loves cooking eating in the kitchen, hiking and outdoor adventures, travel and everything beach! She lives in Chester Springs with her husband, teenage daughter, 3 cats and dog.

Teacher

Maria is a school based Speech Therapist and truly enjoys working with her middle school colleagues and kiddos. An avid Philadelphia sports fan, she loves a good challenge and knows the importance of keeping herself moving for a strong body and mind.

As a mom of 5, yoga has allowed her to be more present for her family and for her students. Ken and the kids( Noah, AJ, Averi, Ava and Alyssa) fully supported Maria in her recent and highly anticipated, YTT journey. It was a demanding and rewarding voyage that took her away from them for 200 hours over the course of 6 months, only to bring her back to them more completely than ever!

Maria fell in love with yoga over the last decade because it forced her to slow down and soak in the moments. To that end, she loves teaching yoga because she views it as a gift. She believes learning the centering benefits of simply returning to the breath, making the time to just, “be” and meeting yourself exactly where you are in that moment, to be truly transformative; a ripple effect that has the power to transcend all aspects of life.

AMANDA

GERMER

Teacher

Amanda originally found this practice as a part of a strength and conditioning program as a college athlete. She found the practice challenging, and noticed subtle changes in her body, and overall well being. After completing undergraduate school and beginning a vigorous graduate school program, Amanda found yoga to be a true outlet and release from the stressors associated with my academic life.

Amanda says she finds the practice to be challenging, grounding, and rejuvenating all at the same time. While at The Works, she hopes to share all of the aspects of this practice that she loves with others, so they might take what they need from it, and grow in their own lives.

Rachel

Ramlochan

Teacher

Mom to two amazing girls, Etta and Sable.

I began practicing in 2007 while in search of another form of movement after a running injury. I found the physical benefits immediately but over the years have come to find the mental and emotional benefits to be paramount. I completed my 200RYT at the Works and have been grateful to find a community like no other. Yoga has truly helped me find a home in myself and my hope is to hold space for others so that they might find what that means for them on their mat.
